About Axle Capital, briefly
Axle Capital (axle-capital.com.au) is an Australian business lender offering fast unsecured loans, low-doc and bad-credit business loans, lines of credit and refinancing or top-up funding. It assesses applications mainly by reading the business's bank statements. For a business with steady deposits and room in its cash flow, that can be a fast way to borrow.
Why refinances and top-ups get declined
When the assessment is built on bank statements, the existing loans are usually what the system sees first:
- Too many repayments already coming out. When two or three loans are already taking money every week, a statement-based assessment often finds no room for another. Loan stacking explained.
- A refinance or top-up that would not fit. Consolidating several unsecured loans into one bigger unsecured loan only works if the new repayments fit the same statements.
- Recent dishonours or overdrawn days. A direct debit that bounced in a tight month can outweigh a long record of steady trading.
- Turnover that dipped. A slow quarter shows straight away on connected statements, even when the business is sound.
- An ATO debt sitting in the background. A tax debt or payment plan often appears alongside the other repayments and tips the decision.
Replace several loans with one, secured on property
A HomeSec loan is secured on real estate and assessed on the property, the equity in it, the business purpose and how the loan is repaid. That means the repayments already on your statements are something the loan can fix, rather than a reason to say no. At settlement the existing business loans can be repaid directly, along with any ATO debt or supplier you choose.
Interest can be prepaid or added to the loan for up to six months, so the weekly drain stops while the business recovers, and the term is open: keep the loan as long as you need it. More on refinancing a business loan and business loans with no valuation.
Every application is read by a Lending Manager and every credit decision is signed off by a person. We do not use artificial intelligence to assess, approve, decline or price a loan.
What to do in the next 24 hours
- List every loan you have running. Lender, balance and how much comes out each week.
- Ask each lender for a payout figure. It tells you exactly what one new loan would need to clear.
- Gather the property details: address, rough value and what is owing on it.
- Stop applying for more unsecured loans. Every new enquiry and repayment makes the next decision harder.
- Call a Lending Manager. You will usually have an indicative answer on the call.
